1, Among the very general breathing masks, the particle filtering FFP mask belongs to the half masks. The English term filtering face peace, literally translated into German as filtering face part and abbreviated FFP, is intended to prevent harmful substances from entering the respiratory tract in occupational safety. The FFP masks are divided into three categories. Their classification is based on the filter performance of the mask and the maximum permissible leakage. This results on the one hand from the permeability of the filter material and on the other hand from the openings at those points where the mask does not sit exactly on the face.
FFP2 masks are used in (work) environments in which there are harmful and mutagenic substances in the air we breathe. The FFP2 mask must capture at least 94% of all particles in the air. In the intensive care unit, FFP2 and FFP3 masks are worn to protect employees from infection. When used properly, this FFP2 mask protection also covers the handling of bacteria and viruses.
The standardized FFP2 mask for corona protection must have 4 layers; the one we offer is 5-ply with the German label FFP2 . It is certified according to EN 149: 2001 + A1: 2009 and has a CE seal. This means that it – also – meets the requirements of EU Regulation 2016/425 on personal protective equipment PPE.
Our FFP2 masks are offered with either elastic head or ear straps. Each FFP2 mask is individually packed in a sealed bag and available in white, green, black, dark blue, pink, turquoise and purple.
